World
Implant Conference 2007 in Las Vegas, NV
on May 20-24, 2007
The Conference was held by Nobel Biocare. There were about 12,000 dentists
from all over the world attended the dental conference. It presented
the latest an technology being used to treat the patients using implant
dentistry. It provides clinicians who are using the latest technologies
and techniques to gather together and share their experiences.
The latest techniques
which we called guided implant placement is the placement of dental implants
using a minimally invasive surgical procedure which eliminates the cutting
of the gum tissue and results in minimal post operative discomfort for the
patient. Using this technique we can also fabricate teeth prior to the implant
placement so the patient in one procedure can have the implants and teeth
placed. We are able to do this using new aesthetic materials that exactly
mimic natural teeth. This is all accomplished by the merging of CT Scan
technology with CAD CAM technology and computer software.
No
longer does a patient have to suffer with an ill fitting dental prosthesis
or endure an unaesthetic dental appearance. This is an exciting time in
dentistry for those of us who are constantly trying to provide out patients
with maximum aesthetics and function.
